Real Estate Postcards

There is a new trend in real estate marketing: color postcards. A picture or a series of pictures is taken of a house and property and is printed on a postcard. Potential clients are identified through surveys and are put on mailing lists. The color postcards are then distributed to them.

Whats the advantage?

A few things. For example, color postcards showing a piece of real estate are much more pleasing to the eye than the old black and white pictures often found in newspaper classifieds. The glossy postcards are also more likely to be kept. They are more durable than newsprint and a client can stick one on the refrigerator. That means recurring advertising influence for the real estate company. Another advantage is the information on the postcard.

A postcard has much more space than a conventional real estate listing, so it can list not only the address and bare facts, but its proximity to school, the crime rate, landscaping features, etc. But is it worth the price of shipping? With the cost of postage rising every day, does it pay to advertise with color real estate postcards? Well, think about it. If you can pay about thirty-five cents to influence someones decision making process, to place your appealing and durable advertisement in someones home without incurring any other costs, is it worth it?

Many, many real estate companies across the nation seem to think so. They believe that color postcards are a tried and true method of getting their information to those that want it.
