How Good Are Your Sales Skills?

Abe Lincoln said, “If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first four hours sharpening the axe.” He would spend the majority of his time working on the tools that make him more effective at work. How would your business look if you followed "honest Abe's" philosophy?

Most of us work to make try to improve our skills. We may work hard, but not necessarily move ahead. We often take ourselves inthe opposite direction by working on the wrong things. It is important to spend the time to sharpen your skills so that your efforts can produce the desired objective.

It does you no good to spend a lot of money on a real estate postcard marketing campaign if you don’t have the sales skills to take advantage of the leads you get.

You must spend time to “sharpen the axe.” Analyze your weaknesses, and work on them. Make sure you are working on the right things. What is your axe in the real estate business? Select one thing that really needs your attention today, and do it TODAY!
